Does high degree education like PhD will make you happy?

These days, most of the young people go to university for many years with hope to have a wealthy future. They or their parents are willing to invest lots of money to achieve their career goals. I think that this is a mistake; the times that every one who has a bachelor degree earn lots of money are over. I think having a high education like PhD will make you earn less money less smart and less happy then to choose a career that doesn’t require high education.

Having a PhD might give you the illusion that you earn lots of money but actually in a life time you will make less money than working in a area that do not require college degree. The reason for this is that in order to have a PhD you probably spent 10 year at the university. At that time you almost didn’t work and if you did, it was as a student earning a minimum salary. In addition, you paid lots of money to finance your degree.
So now you are 30 years old looking for your first real job. You will probably work for few years for minimum salary just for gaining the experience and then you will have something like 10 years to make real good money. But after you turn 45, your career will start to roll down. As you can see in today’s High Tech companies, they earn lots of money, but you rarely see any people older then 50. After 50 years old most of them have to change a career to one they probably could have when they were 20 years old without wasting their best 10 years of life in college.

Having a PhD gives us the illusion that a person is smart and educated, but if you really think about it, the moment a person enters the university he becomes less smart, less creative and usually understands only in the narrow field he chooses to specialize.
For example, Albert Einstein was a sick kid, therefore, he missed lots of school and he said that this is what kept his creativity and didn’t narrow his thought to the way all other people were taught to think.
In the 10 years that you are busy specializing in a specific subject you almost don’t have time to read about other areas. Most of the people that surround you have the same topic of interest, so you barely meet other people that could open your mind and your curiosity to other subjects.
People pursue a high education hoping to be happy in life by making more money and being more educated. They are wrong!
I have already explained above why they will be less smart and have less money; in addition to that, they will probably have a less happy family life. Most of the educated people do not have time to start a family before they turn 30, while the uneducated people have kids from the time they are 20 while they are still strong and can really enjoy them. Uneducated people have more kids because they have time to bring them.
When they are older the uneducated people enjoy a big family that takes care of them, while the educated ones have no more then 2 kids that probably do not stay close to them and do not care about them because they were taught that what is important is life is career and not family life.
For conclusion, the only ones who gain from your high degree education are the universities that charge you tons of money to sell you the fake dream that education leads to happiness. This wasn’t true 30 years ago because then only few very talented people went to university. But today you can see colleges and universities more then MacDonald branches. As my father has always told me, “When everybody buys stocks sell and when everybody sells buy.”
